"Eve" by Anna Lea Merrit
Reviews
Katherine creates a captivating tale as she weaves the unfathomable realities of our history into the fabric of her characters, masterfully taking treaders on a unique journey. Transported to the WWII era, readers are spellbound by the intricate lives and struggles faced by endearing characters. As I was reading, I had to remind myself that this was a work of fiction and not a firsthand account. I could not put it down, as I became invested in the outcome of the characters, who Katherine brought to life. This is definitely a must read, especially for fans of historical fiction.

I truly loved this book from beginning to end. It gave the readers an alternate perspective to those who lived and survived WWII. I appreciated all of the historical anecdotes and the amount of research this would have entailed. It is nothing like I’ve read before.

I can honestly say I loved this novel. Following the main character’s journey was very enjoyable and I was completely invested... (spoilers) I think focusing on the tortures of war as they relate to women is a reality not often tapped into, but so important. We think of our vets as the good guys, but we don’t think of this brutal truth. You can be good and bad all in one. It was interesting that Katherine choose to juxtapose the horrible men against this one good guy and wish that he could find love from a women so damaged by her past. It was also neat to feel so attached to characters that I can’t even name. I was lost in the story and think it’s a must-read for the many of us who love historical fiction!

I was hooked after a few pages. I needed to know more about HER. Why was he so obsessed with finding her? What was their story? Every chapter brought on more questions and intrigue.

I got completely entrenched. I loved the characters, love the solidarity between the female characters. She told stories about world war ii in a way I've never heard them before. I love all the little true stories spliced into the book. Bravo!

Fantastic execution of several excellent premises, both thematic and mechanical.
